What Readers Say

Adam’s Story

…..Maggie

In this humorous and tender sequel to Charly and Sam, bestselling author Jack Weyland finally reveals what happened to Adam their only son.

…..Joy

What’s not to like about Jack Weyland. Like all his books, this is fun to read. It was interesting to me on a personal level–about grandparents who loved their grandchild from afar and then helped him “find himself” as an adult, reconciling a dead mother, his father’s choices, his controlling (but nice) “2nd” mother, and himself. Of course there’s plenty of nice clean action too.

…..Kim

For those who don’t know, because I didn’t until I read it, this is the book that goes with Charlie and Sam. Adam is their son they had before Charlie died. And it goes through how he finds his family. It is amazing just like Charlie and Sam.

Alone, Together

…..Shelby

OMG! This is my most favorite book of all time. This a good Mormon book. i cried soo much, but it is still my favorite.

…..Amy

I did learn that no matter what your age, we are all trying to do the same thing, endure to the end. And because of that, we aren’t alone. Sometimes it just feels like no one else is feeling our same way, but in reality, we are all trying to do our best to live a happy life.

…..Sarah

This was a great book, I love Jack Weyland’s stories because they offer great perspective on life and the gospel. It felt good to read an LDS novel again and helped remind me of my tesimony and how much I love my husband.

As Always, Dave

…..Ariana

This is the latest book I read. I loved it, then hated it, then loved it. If you can make a reader do that, then you’ve got a great talent.

…..Heather

I thought this was a great book. It was a good romance, with a little suspence. It was good for people dating and married! It was good to get a man’s point of veiw.

…..Rochelle

I actually liked this book more than I thought, although I think the girls were highly annoying characters. I’m sure they were supposed to be. I liked that he made Dave work for a ‘happy’ ending and it wasn’t just a fairy tale. It reminded me of someone I know who recently got married.

Charly

…..Rai

This one’s a real tear-jerker if ever I read one! Charly’s spunky personality is impossible not to like- she easilly could have been a very obnoxious character, but Jack Weyland wrote her superbly! I saw the movie first and I cried like a baby; then I read the book and bowled like a madwoman. I think it frightened my dog. I had to close it and put it down for several minutes just so that I could wipe my eyes and and get control of myself. Then, after taking a deep breath, I would pick it up, read the next sentance, start bowling again and have to set it asside for another few minutes. It was rediculous! Still, my memories of the book are good ones and you don’t go away from it feeling empty or bitter in any way. A good story.

…..Kristen

LOVED IT, loved it, cried, love it, and love it! A wonderful romantic novel by a talented author. It’s been years since reading this book and just thinking about it makes me want to pick it up and read it yet again.

…..Mikayla

I saw the movie when i was little and was looking through some books at my house the other day and thought i had to read this i love the book and the movie they are amazing!!

…..Marla

I loved this book! I have yet to see the movie. If you enjoy tear-jerking romance, this one is perfect.  Before the tears, the book is very fun and engaging.  But the whole of the story will break your heart.  The worst for me was when Charly got so sick that she couldn’t even stand at her baby’s crib so she reached up through the bars to hold his hand.  Waaaaaaaa!!!  And I didn’t even have children of my own when I read this,  so I don’t know if I could even make it through that part if I were to read it again now.  But it was very good.  Unless you get headaches whenver you cry,  I’d recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance.

Sara, Whenever I Hear Your Name

…..Alicia

“It’s really good, and it’s about this girl who has been sexually abused by her stepdad and wants to press charges on him once she found out he had made her become pregnant, and she is only 15.

This book, has trail, disappointments, and jealousy. This book will leave you speachless, you will be laughing, and crying. I suggest you read it. I found Jack Weylands books very dignafied.”

…..Kate

I have read this book too many times to count. Besides Charly this is probably my favorite book that I’ve read of jack Weylands. It always brings tears to my eyes at the end, and just really touches me for some reason.

…..Jennifer

This book was given to me for Christmas one year when I was a teenager. It was so touching and so honest, it made me cry. I wanted there to be a happy ending for Travis and Sara, but…well….read it and find out. I did not understand the ending to much when I was younger, but I understand maybe why it ended like it did.

…..Liesl

Anyone who has people in their lives who have been sexually abused.

This book is about sexual abuse. It is a really good book, a tear jerker. It helps you understand better all the guilt these victims go through, and how they can possibly overcome these feelings.

Michelle and Debra

…..Heidi

My 3rd and possibly favorite Weyland. Perhas because it showed the two girls and how their different decisions had such different consequences. It was also nice to see the guy’s side of growing up and making good or bad decisions. But this one definitely destroyed BYU reality for me.

…..Lisa

I just re-read this, 1st time was 15 years ago. I loved how he showed that picking the right friends when you are young can make all the difference in who you trun out to be as a adult.

Cheyenne in New York

…..Libby

I loved this book! It is based during the time of 9/11 and about a young girl who has graduated from college to intern in New York City. I loved the fact that it talked about part member families, and dating nonmembers. It’s not your typical “happily ever afer” Jack Weyland.

…..Maggie

A contemporary love story played out in the aftermath of a horrific national disaster. It reaffirms in an unforgettable way the power of love, faith, and family ties.

…..Melinda

I loved the way Cheyenne’s father mentors the male lead in how to be a good head-of-household. Cheyenne has a lot of faith and courage. I can see her praying pretty much non-stop in her mind, as she ponders what to do with her boyfriend. He just doesn’t know how to be… but he’s willing to try and to learn.

My first impressions of Jack Weyland’s books were of Charly and how things turn out beautifully always… well, they don’t always turn out beautifully or even well, in this life, and I’ve had to learn that in my own relationships. I’m glad to know there’s hope… and instructions!

…..Alicia

This book is about the twin towers and the boy in the book losing his father, grandfather, and uncle. He goes through the hard times, as well as the good. He also finds what true love is all about. I loved this book. It made me cry on really non-emotional parts, It was a really good book, I suggest you read it.

…..Travis

I read this book in one of my “can’t find anything to read” spells and because my sister had just read it and said it was good. When I started reading it became apparent really fast that it was a great book that showcased problems faced when one marries outside of the church and is a strong member who is trying to have there spouse with them in the gospel.

Eagles Don’t Eat Worms

…..Suzanne

I think this is a great gook that will teach everyone that it is important to look at a person from the inside, but just what they see on the outside. It also shows all of us, but especially youth, that it is important to have good friends that encourage us to do good things.

…..a Mom

This book is about a teenage boy who knocked a blind woman down & tried stealing her dog, then was punished by having to wear special contacts for 2 months, and learning to appreciate what it’s like to have no sight. It was great! Sure made me appreciate my sight!

Emily

…..Channing

This is my very most favorite book! Jack Weyland is my favorite author and this is one of his best books. It is about a girl who gets burned in a fire and how she has to recover from it. I have read most of his books and have liked every single one of them. His books are mostly about problems that teens face. Abortion, drugs, family problems, ect. All of his books are amazing!

…..Deana

This book truly educated me about burn victims. I did not understand the physical healing process and how much it truly takes out of you.

Jack Weyland helps you to dwell in the mind of a previously beautiful young woman with a great future. Her life is forever changed for the positive and negative as a result of one bad accident.

…..Kasha

I loved Emily in this book of her strength that she had when she got burnt and how she loved Austin enough to set him up with dates but in the end they fell in love with each other.

Kimberly

…..Dana

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I read it as a teenager and it helped shape me. It’s about an LDS divorce. I read read it a few years after my parents divorce. It was a big help to me. Divorce is so painful for the kids. This books talks about that. In a world where divorce is too common place we often forget how it might affect the kids.

…..Dawn

Most Weyland books tend to be written to the purpose of some teen hardship. Because of this he usually deals with very real and very hard topics for teens. Teens need these issues discussed, some earlier then others. Kimberly addresses divorce, affairs and eternal marriage.

…..Priya

It was a great book… loved the atmosphere. I guess I learned how important it is to listen to the lord.

Lean on Me

…..Ashlee

I loved this book. I read it back in high school about 8 years ago I guess. It actually came with a CD and I listened to it over and over.

…..Siera

This was actually really good! I love the way it’s all a flash back and then goes back to the present where the problem is finally resolved! Great, and I’m impressed with all of his books. It made me not expect the ending – at all. Not many books take me by surprise, especially when they’ve made it seem predictable for the rest of the book … seriously, you’ll just have to read it.

…..Kate

I loved this book! My mom surprised me with it when I was a teenager, I loved Jack Weyland books and she had him sign it.

Nicole

…..Monna

FANTASTIC!!! This one I actually listened to on a cd in the car. I love Jack Weylands books. I am getting ready volunteer for Special Olympics in 2009 and Richard, one of the characters in this book, really touched my heart.

…..Sandra

THIS IS MY FAVORITE READ! It is a must read!

Sam

…..Alysha

This is the sequel to Charly.
Sam is sad, as you remember Sam’s loss, yet romantic as he gets married to a girl names Laura.

And Sam’s son Adam gets into his terrible twos. The whole book is facinating, and romantic.

…..Heidi

At first I could not reconcile myself to liking the first part of this book. I was still of the mindset of the “one and only” and how could he betray Charly’s memory by going for another woman? This book helped me learn many things and I came to an understanding and an agreement.

…..Holly

This book is a wonderful novel of a widowed fathers life… Jack Weyland keeps your interest by adding twists and turns to the story… even a new girl… but she could never replace charlie… could she? Find out!!!

Saving Kristen

…..Marisa

This was nothing like I expected with the illegal seizing of drug money and then the “chase” (not to give away what happens) Also a good look into choices and repentance. A fun, quick read with a lot of action. I hadn’t read Jack Weyland since I was a teenager until recently with As Always, Dave so I picked up this on the bookmobile last time it was here and enjoyed the story.

…..Megan

LLLLOOOOOOVVVVEEEE it. This is probably the best book he has written.

…..Ciara

Wow. That is all I have to say. A story of a girl who loses her way because of a boy she really liked. Follow her as she makes her mistakes and corrects them, finds her true love, and get back on track with her life.

The Understudy

…..Shaumbra

This book has a wonderful insight into how being like the Savior, Jesus Christ, a person can be transformed. I learned a lot from the character who had to play Christ and how his attitude and outlook on life changed when he delved into his role.

…..Michelle

I loved this book. Very fast moving. I enjoyed how he was able to put some of his feelings and views of Jesus Christ in the book. It made me stop and think.

…..Julie

This is one of my all-time favorite books, and it’s very different from other Jack Weyland books I’ve read. The Understudy is a beautiful story about an actor who takes a role playing Jesus Christ and through that role, comes to know the Lord for the first time.

…..Susan

I bought this book from the Deseret Industries. It’s an older book so I didn’t expect it to draw me into the story like the more recently published LDS novel. I was inspired.
